In October 2015 our third Diploma in Counselling, Specialising in Children and Young Adult will commence. This 2-year training was commissioned by a group of Jewish women in London. Enquiries Bernd Leygraf: firstname.lastname@example.org
We did run a similar 2 year Diploma in Counselling with Children and Young Adults in Antwerp, Belgium from May 2013 to July 2015.
In July 2014 we started with a group of Chassidic Jewish men in London, who finished their first year in July and will start their second year in September 2015.
We also collaborate with the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Psychotherapy in their Foundation Training starting January 2016: Foundation Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy Skills and Theories
This one year part time course, with 120 hours contact time, will devote itself to the practical aspects of counselling, whilst providing an introduction to the major theorists in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. Additionally, the course will include aspects of psychosexual and couples therapy, which will allow successful students to progress to the qualifying training at The London Diploma in Psychosexual & Relationship Psychotherapy, should they wish to do so as Part 1 of their training.
Students will be encouraged to engage with the course in order to incorporate skills and attitudes which will set the foundation for more substantive training. This course can be taken as a ‘stand alone’ training or as a basis for other training in mental health/caring professions as the foundation phase for continuing education and development.
This course may also be helpful to those candidates who wish to enhance their knowledge in the field of sexuality and relationships and/or for personal development.
Curriculum: initial counselling and psychotherapy theory and skills training, introductory teachings on: Gestalt,TA, Person-Centred therapy, CBT, NLP, existential therapy, transpersonal therapy, psychodynamic therapy and dream work. We will also, unusually for a foundation level integrative counselling course, have some introduction to working with couples and psychosexual therapy.
